Physics & Meteorology Department
The department was established in 1951. The department has modern facilities
like STM, MBE, Lasers, etc and provides consultancy services to many industries
and other institutes. The department is deeply engaged in frontier areas of
Astro-physics and Cosmology Sciences and technologies of new materials and
optical fibres.
Some of the sponsored projects include , Development of EDFA, Dispersion
Comp Optical Fibre as a part of, Fibre Lasers, Acoustic Sounding Studies,
Rare Earth Doped Optical Fibres, Studies in Photon Atom and Photon Molecule
Interaction, Detailed structure Analysis of Samples using XD, Growth and characterization of strain and Band gap.
